art as a career
Media is one of the few disciplines that is science, as well as an art. Effective and meaningful media requires intellect, rational rigor, and the ability to elicit emotions and beliefs. The pursuit of balancing both the logic and lyricism of every project is a task that requires a singularly mysterious skill, yet one I continuously aim to improve.
Mediums I work in
Videography
Videography has always been the medium I was drawn to most. Beginning in College, I began working as a Videographer in Commercial Advertising, creating product ads for web spaces. Videography to me is where art and technicality meet. Where preparation and the ability to problem solve in real time meet. It is challenging yet rewarding.
Design
Throughout my career I have always returned to Graphic Design. It is a medium that provides you the metrics to measure the success of the project and you can see the growth of your skill and understanding of the medium over time with how well it connects to its intended audience.
editing
I have 5 years experience editing with both Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve. Piecing together the project in the editing room brings a smile to my face every time. While the Videographer may capture the story, the editor gets final say on how it is told. I love creating the story and manipulating it perfectly down to the frame to tell the best story possible.

Team coordination and leadership
My time in leadership roles have been incredible learning experiences. With the opportunity to plan productions with industry leading producers and coordinate full productions with multiple departments, I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to work with these amazing teams and learn new skills and techniques I have been able to carry over into my work and other roles.
writing
With a minor in Non-Fiction Creative Writing, there was a time where I wanted nothing more than to be a nose-to-the-ground journalist. While I ended up with a camera instead of a pen, my passion for writing has never faltered. I love Non-Fiction and Fiction writing. I am, however, not a poet, unless you would like a limerick or Shel Silverstein-esque piece.
